DRA/PAC Hosts Successful Fundraiser at Iron Hill Brewery

Your Support is Needed Now More Than Ever

More than 60 members came together this past Monday evening to help raise much needed funds for the Delaware Restaurant Association’s Political Action Committee.  The reception was donated by Iron Hill Brewery in Wilmington. “The importance of a well-funded PAC helps to solidify our voice in Dover” said Dennis Forbes of Cool Springs Fish Bar in Dover and DRA Vice-Chairman and current PAC Chair.

The strength of  DRA’s voice was heard this past legislative session as the industry faced one of its toughest years.  Members and legislative representatives succeeded on all fronts saving restaurateurs thousands of dollars by defeating multiple wage and alcohol bills.

The DRA/PAC was created in 2002 by the Association to give members a way to join together and support candidates that are supportive of the restaurant industry.  “Having a healthy PAC ensures the industry has an effective and formidable voice against anti-business legislation,” Forbes added.

The DRA has been very active during this year’s historic election cycle.  Members need to help re-elect and elect those candidates who support issues that affect their businesses.  New proposals such as mandated health care, skyrocketing minimum wage and cash wage, unfair business taxes and regulations are already on the horizon in Dover when session begins this January.

The DRA/PAC is your first line of defense.
