Last Minute Political Play will Prompt Re-Vote
As a direct result of Industry pressure, the House failed to pass HB210,HB211 and HB212 late last night. A three-fifth majority is needed for passage. Democrats are one vote shy. A last minute political move by Representative Valerie Longhurst (D-Newark) who changed her vote will allow the bill to be brought back to the floor within 48 legislative hours. We expect a vote (again) as early as next Tuesday.
Republicans voted No as a block with the exception of Representative Bill Oberle (R) who voted “not voting”.
Please urge your Republican members to remain vigilant and vote “No”. Pressure needs to remain high as well for all Democratic representatives.
